Aditya Balani

Aditya Balani, a multifaceted musician wears many hats as a composer, guitarist, singer-songwriter, music producer and educator. Always looking to break new ground he inevitably and frequently finds himself in uncharted waters, seeking to mould his creative expressions.

 

In 2010 Aditya graduated from Berklee College of Music (USA), where he received the Berklee Achievement Scholarship, won the Kenwood Dennard artist competition and performed at various celebrated events like the International Folk Music Festival and Guitar Night Showcase. 

Aditya is very passionate about music education. He co-founded Global Music Institute in New Delhi with his brother Tarun Balani in 2011. GMI has in a short span of time become one of the leading music schools in India bringing in a global approach to music education in the country. 2014 saw Aditya collaborating with Sudeep Sen, an Internationally acclaimed poet from India for the album Kargil – A Triptych. This was followed by the much awaited record Culture Code Landscape for his duo project Adi & Suhail with vocalist/sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan. A collaboration with Shilpa Rao on Abr e Karam for the movie Bhopal : A Prayer for Rain was followed by a Hard Rock Cafe Tour across India.

Aditya’s most recent release (September 2015) is the EP Constants and Variables which includes organic songwriting encompassing all his musical influences.
